She walked down the dark lane, The world upon her head. The sea of grief threatened to swallow her whole, Yet she worked to keep afloat, Tried yet failed. Everywhere she turned, She saw someone, something, That embodied and represented her past, The overwhelming present and the future, She tried to keep calm, To walk without a care in the world, This failed too. She started to crack, The feigned smile and façade she tried to keep up wore out, Doubt reared it's head, Confidence stood to draw it's sword, In the end, It too backed down.
